It's okay to be stuck in traffic.

A beautiful day out, driving down the road, windows open, and a fantastic passenger by my side. Life is good. 
Then the traffic gets heavy and slows to a crawl. 

Grrrrrr... Why do traffic jams make me so cranky?

I don't have set time I have to be anywhere, yet it is annoying. Then we drive by this...

When I get home I see on the news that the person driving was killed.. and suddenly that extra ten minutes out of my life doesn't seem so bad.. 


Next time you are fuming in traffic, just think to yourself that you are lucky to be where you are.. Not the cause of the slow down.

Pawn Stars!

We started out the day trying to find a trail that I had read about in a local paper.
It goes along a water way, and there is supposed to old abandoned trinkets, and a neglected brothel along the route.
All we got was this.

I weird ass sign saying that we finally found the trail head.

A strange rest area, that provided doggy waste bags. (Apparently nobody really uses them.)

That is a car dumped in there.. look close.

Then the trail ended before it even began... fenced off.. we got back in the truck and tried to pick it up again, but no luck.. so we drove downtown and decided to drop into.....

Maybe we would get on TV!

It's very popular, and a line to shop that has nothing to do with Black Friday weekend or deals for that matter.

The shit in that shop is not cheap! 

I did find out that with a local ID you do not have to wait in line to gawk at their old treasures and snicker at the asking prices.. 

Plus a bunch of touristy stuff, that isn't that high priced.  $14.95 for a t shirt is about right.

Mom wanted to go to Walmart to look at material to recover the dining chairs..

I agreed to go.. I must have lost my mind..

Also crazy busy, but the prices were right!

We survived! And nobody was hurt or maimed.

Last March when all the really loved (and planned) siblings were celebrating their birthdays.. I posted such events on my Trunk Cheese blog.. I thought.. How great it would be if Dad made it all the way to Tophers Birthday.?????

By the time my Birthday rolled along in August I knew that would not happen. He died 11 days later.
Happy Birthday little Brother. 
We don't talk everyday.. We filter our lives through Mom.. and that is okay, because when we do get together, we click and I love you!

And though you are doing well in life, I am sure she would catch you if you falter.

The first time I went to the beach was in the 1970's.. we met up with this crew.

The Turners!

Today I met up with the Turner girls decades after.. They were always so cool! The California, not so Mormon, crew that we had fun with.

Now we are in our 40's and 50's.. lives have been lived.. but something don't change, they are still fun and I am glad I spent the morning and afternoon with these generous, gregarious women.

Talking about our parents, antics from our childhood, and swinging the slot arms.

I get to spend more time with these fantastic women tomorrow... Here is to you Becky, Lisa and Jenny!

Vegas fun facts. That will save your life.

I have lived in Vegas for under two years, and watching the new has taught me these two important facts.


1- If the cops tell you to show your hands. Do it! They will shoot you dead.

Seriously they like to answer questions at the inquiry after your family sues. And you are still dead.

2- Never assume that a cross walk is safe.

The last couple of weeks we have had a rash of pedestrian fatal accidents. The news is just now reporting another one.

Little girls, teenage trick-or-treaters. Students getting it by the schools bus.. BREAKING NEWS: UPS Truck Hits and Kills Women  the cars are out to get you!

Ouch!

Just for shits and giggles, tomorrow Mom and I are thinking of venturing out to check a new bus route that goes downtown and to the airport... 

I think we will wear our safety orange.

Sarah has the right idea.. proclaiming all that she is thankful all month long.

I was just recently saying to Chell that I am lucky in the sibling department.
About this time last year, I was working at my psycho job. I mentioned that I couldn't wait to get home because my brother was flying in. 
My crazy boss Jim was genuinely confused as to why I would want to spend time with my brother..
Well Duh, its Mikey..  

Now that things have calmed down here, the visits have slowed and I really miss the trips to the airport, picking up some of my favorite people.


Mom is now packing her bags and seeing her kids on their own turf. 
Tomorrow she is off to see Mike in Reno... 

Ahhh.. That's why Mike stays in Reno.
