Click it now!

Chell's hard work is showing.
Now her house is ready to rent..

Go to her brand new website! Click it and tell your friends to click it too.
So easy that even Matt could do it if he weren't so  stubborn.
Now if you know anyone who wants a super clean place to stay in Vegas, you have a place to recommend!
And that is why pets are not allowed.

I said, 'No Pets.' Damn cats never listen.

See how nice a cat free pool looks? Fresh and inviting after a play day on the hot hot Strip.

Okay stop reading and go Google and click that website, we all know how important web traffic is.!

Amused moment of the day.

After a fun time elbowing our way through the Fiesta buffet..
Chell and I took our full tummies to the slots.

No big wins, but lots of small ones that let us play for a while,  Chell walked out richer.
Me, just five dollars poorer.
Lincoln approves!
The people inside the casino were almost as much entertainment as the games.
As we were walking out, I get a little nudge.. that silent communication  that scream.
"Look at that."
And I did.
Two very large women in very little clothing climb out of a truck.

Kinda like this with out the lighting and photo tricks.
But wait! They weren't just climbing out of a truck, but a old shitty truck.
Sweet ride ladies!
Wait! Inside the bed of the truck was a old icky stained mattress.

But my favorite part of the whole fantastic scene was that we saw this all, as the women were having their mobile Den of Iniquity Valet Parked.

I figured they used that mattress for a few extra bucks 'wink wink' and decided to live the Fiesta high life!

Maybe if they win tonight they can take the night off.

I already do!
They need to make a living too.

Commuting sucks

Today's commute.
16 miles.
Open the truck door and let the hot air escape.
Stupid chart... stops at 100, it was 113 when I got out of work, you do the math, my brain is fried.
I pull down the windshield heat reflectors.
Pretty useless if you ask me.
Now it is time to wait until the A/C cools the steering wheel off enough to actually touch.
Finally time to roll.

Windows down until I hit Topicana.
Watch for this... lots cars giving into the heat.
But wait! How can I watch traffic when I see some dude in the next lane.
Beat up shit box, fading paint on his DIY American Flag paint job, dude with old school ear phones, picking his nose and flicking boogers out the open window...
No A/C
No Stereo
No Self restraint.
Then I see the Florida plates and it all makes sense.

Funny Somewhat Topical Ecard: It really shouldn't take a hurricane to convince you to evacuate Florida.

I pass the booger hunter.. and go along my merry way.. still on Trop, when I slow down at a green light, because the car in front of me is crawling to turn.. ( Las Vegans make the slowest turns ever.)

I look in the rear view mirror and there is the old faded glory Chevy screeching to a stop so as not to hit me..
Reminiscent of last week on Mt Charleston.

He passes me like I am crazy local.. F#ck you Mister full size head phones.
What are they plugged into anyway, a boombox?

I turn onto Rainbow and that damn car weaves in and out of traffic, gaining nothing.. I stay in my lane, safe and proper and we stop at the same lights.. idiot..

So I did the unsafe thing and took out my ancient cell phone and snapped this shot of him.
Yup the light is still red...
He finally gets away and I am happy..
I am happy because I remember the July two years ago..

When I found out that heat can slow down your stop time.. especially in a old vehicle.
And then it bursts into flames!
I think the worst part of my job is the commute, it really does suck..

Drive safe everyone.

114 Degrees? Oh yeah, it's Vegas baby

We Recommend Surgically Removing Your Lower Back So You Can Contort Yourself Into the Freezer
That is some good advise!

This means only one important thing!

Ice Cream (Gelato.) Buffet for dinner!
I give everyone permission to have a tasty ice cream meal.. Go ahead, you deserve it!
Feel free to run through the sprinklers..  It's okay to act like a kid, it's fun!

Turn up the A/C and throw in a movie..

If it didn't look so damn boring... this might be a good choice

Supplement your Diet Coke and Ice Coffee, with just a little H2O
And if you are still hot, get naked and find a beach! It's scorching. It's okay..

Isn't it ironic that Seattle is one of the only states not suffering the heat??

Bras, beads and Bella.

It was hot when we got up today.. almost 100 degrees.
We thought it would be a great day to head up the mountain.. a little nature for our 4th.
We drove until it was 60 degrees! Nice Brrrrr. We didn't think to bring jackets.

It was so cold the Panda's came out... it's nature after all.
Well if Vegas had Pandas they would have loved it.

Up to the ski resort we went.. It's a really a Ski nook.

At least it had indoor plumbing.
The summer chair lift was running, so up the hill we went!
See how cold it looks?
In shorts and short sleeves, it was a bit chilly.. and these lifts had no safety bars.  Nothing.
Which makes taking someone afraid of heights all that much more fun!

The scenery was what you would expects, trees, hills and bra's.

What's that you say? Bra's?

Bras and beads on almost every tree we passed.. I like the hot pink one!

Taking a picture of a bra in a tree as you sit on a moving, lift without a seat belt is harder than you think.. just saying.
Just a reminder that you are that close to Vegas..

This sign makes sure you know also..
It was a good day! Cool and great company!
Happy Independence Day!

My favorite Independence Day

One of my childhood memories that stands out is the Summer I turned 10.
The same Summer that America turned 200.

36 damn years ago these came out! 36!! yikes.
That year Mom and Dad were kid weary, or daughter weary anyway.. and shipped the girls off to Port Orchard, Washington.
To Grandma's house we go!
Grandma and Ken were full of adventure and our days were filled with berry picking, trips to the Airport, just to watch the planes come in..

Hunting sand dollars on the freezing beaches.
Chasing little crabs on the stinky Puget Sound.

And the Space Needle.. I still have this.
36 years ago this was pretty amazing.. Computers were not a every day thing!
Grandma bought me a groovy scratch and sniff orange t-shirt.  Of course one washing and it was over.
I think it was made by these guys... Mmmmm smells like racism.
It was a good time for sure, and I think Marti may have got in trouble for stealing Grandpa Kens prize Peas.
They were damn good peas.
I remember the smell of their basement, and the stacks of old magazines..
Every Good House Keeping, and Red book published to that point.
I remember this one.. Police Woman was one hot law enforcement officer!

Then there was the big celebration!
1976 Fireworks over the water!

When your 10 and from Utah that was a pretty big deal.. Far cry from the park in Lehi.. (But that was fun too.)
ooooohhh... aaaahhhhh.
So thanks to Mom and Dad for sending us away that Summer.. It has stayed with me all those years!

Just a typical Saturday in Vegas.

There are two things that you never ever want to run out of..
1st
For obvious reasons.
And this..

Because Bella a is a bitch and gets even worse when she can see the  bottom of her dish.
So its a Morning of shopping for Chell and I..  Target bound we are!
Oh but wait!!!  We pass a Old Navy on the way... And this working girl needs some work shorts.. yup, that's right I wear shorts to work..  Jealous???
Pulling into the parking lot I get a Christmas time Deja Vu.  The lot is filled, there are careless pedestrians walking around and full bags sporting the Old Navy Logo..

We are brave.
We go in.. the place is packed.. the line at the registers are snaked around and around..
What the Hell??
Never ever go to Old Navy on dollar flip flop day, NEVER!!!
45 Minutes to a hour to plop down you $5.00 and get your cheap footwear.. ( 5 pair maximum.)
We departed, no newly purchased shorts.

After doing our Saturday chores, we decided we deserved to abandon Mom with Bella..
(Don't judge, we didn't leave a starving Bella.)
And head up to Chells house with its nice sparkling cool pool. Plus we wanted to take some night shots of the city sky line.

Dusk is falling and we step out back.. Chell says the fateful words.. "I wonder if the bats are out tonight?"
Oh they were out all right.. Hungry and aggressive.. They trapped us..  The little demons were eating pool bugs. Bats are creepy.. I don't care about all the good they do, when you feel and hear them buzz by your head, it's freak out time.

Dip in the pool can wait.
Time to head up and get some night shots..  driving up Lake Mead Blvd, the view is amazing.
A few minutes up the mountain and we pull off to the gravel and broken glass parking area..
First thing that hits us is the smell of the dead...
Probably because we know this is a mile or two up the road..  this plus other carcasses strew in the ravine..
It's dark up there, cant see the rattlesnakes, scorpions and natures other little demons.. soon we realize that isn't nature we need to watch out for, its the glass shards and needles and the high possibly of used condoms.
I say that because there was a couple getting it on up there, on the hood of the car.

We quietly go to the other side of the road to try and get some shots...
That didn't go over so well..
But this gives you a idea of the fantastic view..  this is one I took of the Strip..
10 minutes later we are back at the house and in the bat free pool..

Life is good!
