Road trip!

Mom and decided to test out the new car.. and yes it does get 40 mpg.
A trip to Primm.

What's in Primm?  Nothing, but a huge outlet store!

Head directly to the 75% off section!

If it's creepy it's fun!

I really don't understand the giant swimsuit couple.

Maybe they look after the giant flamingos???

Strange and wonderful... wish they had Santa hats on.

Nope, still too expensive for me!

Went looking for the restrooms, turned the corner and saw this! A mall with a full size casino!

If all that wasn't enough, we walked into the Lucky store, knowing Mike and Topher like that brand.
Get Lucky!

That price is NOT Lucky..

We found tons of them on clearance for $14.97!
Oh Yes we did!

Usually I find outlet stores a big fat lie.  But this mall out in the middle of the desert rocks!
And there is no need to eat food court bland, over priced food...

Hit the casino buffet or do like we did....  all day $3.00 breakfast at the casino cafe.. Bacon!

Breakfast for lunch. Win!

No good deed goes unpunished.

Over a week ago Mom started helping out a neighbor.. and by that I mean she saved her life.
Mom patiently, yet sternly insisted on taking her to the hospital. She was in dire need of blood.

She was so weak it took 2 hours for her to shower and get in the car.

Meanwhile the woman has many cats. A nice friendly one, a closet cat and a couple of garage cats.
So June has been going over everyday and feeding them.
Where is my human?
Plus Mom has been going to visit her at the hospital everyday.
This is a woman who has burned most her relationship bridges, not the easiest to get along with. .
The only person to visit her.

Today she is coming home, Mom is going to go pick her up.
Before she does that she went and bought some welcome home/ get well balloons.
I went with her to decorate the house, when my nose was assaulted with yuck.

The house always smells funky... but this is too much.
I don't know why I looked in the guestroom, but I did. One of the cats was using the bed as a litter box!

As I was gagging Mom cleaned up the shit and threw the blankets in the wash...
I can't get the smell out of my nose.
Mother is a better friend than I could ever be.

MikeGyver

Moms piano needed a little tweaking, so Mike got to work.
I see the problem....  need a few things.
The keys were sticking and the thingies were not even.
Mike just needed a few professional parts to do the job.

Piano grade drinking straws.

And............
Chickering approved boo boo pads.
.

A little bang  here and and little ping and pry there and the piano works much better!
That orange thing is the straw, that stops the rattle.
It aint pretty, but if you leave the case down, you are all set!

Mike is a clever guy. Topher and I will never let him forget the time in Reno when the car we were driving died.
Mike found a comb and a lighter and melted together the wires that came loose..  and we were once again on our way!
Not just for smoky treats!

Cruising The Strip

We decided to take Moms new ride out on the strip. Mostly because of it's over the top panoramic sunroof.

Pretty cool! Three times the size of regular folks sunroof.

New view of the strip.! plus the car is new so the windows are clean.

We parked the car and went to look at the Christmas bling.

Got the shot... now we don't need to put up a tree!

Liberace's sleigh!

Me taking a picture of a Vegas style tree.
Up close it looks like this......

Only on Vegas!
We wanted to see the fools ice skate on the fake Venetian ice...
I am thinking it's a big bust, nobody is ever out there skating. :(
Even the giant disco ball can't draw them in.

New car smell

Car shopping is hell, it has that reputation because it is true.
The day started as lets go look at some cars, to sitting in a dealership as numbers were crunched, promised and crushed.
The car is probably a done deal, because it is still a sweet deal, but damn you VW and your "Five more minutes and we will have everything good."
How about a Honda?

Nah, I think we should keep looking.

Now that red one in the window is nice!  Too bad I won't spend the $30,000 .

You will give it to me for what? Sold!

The paperwork isn't signed yet, we were grouchy and hungry after being held hostage at the dealership for so long. but.................. The car is sitting in the garage tonight.

Mom is going back tomorrow to make them give her the price they quoted! We all know she will win!

Grab a mop and broom.. (and maybe some dynamite.)

This morning Mom noticed that there was a cleaning crew at our old neighbors house.
The one that was evicted. She just had to know, how bad was it?
The poor souls who were elected to clean the place, now that the mountains of clutter is gone, said we could take a peek.
These are picture I took this morning. Not off some sick website.

Unfortunately its a three bathroom house.

I think the kid is still in denial about the tasks that await him. Note the air freshener he wouldn't put down.

I couldn't imagine having to clean this.. GROSS!

The porn is gone, but the strange isn't as easily removed.

Time to bake cookies. (Or lose them.)

Inside the built in microwave.
The guys wouldn't let us open the refrigerator because we didn't have masks on. The mold was so bad he described, that it had hairy tentacles growing out of the black poison.

It's just like watching Hoarders, makes you want to scrub your own living quarters.

Guess who is home?

Mom went to Austin for Thanksgiving.
Visiting some of her favorite boys.

And trying to make Bella jealous with stories about how good Tophers  cats Bronx and Giada are.

She is back now.. and sometimes just a little bored.
Everyone knows that can be dangerous.

Lucky for her, the crazy cat lady down the street knows she is home and has every problem and ailment known to the over 60 set.
She has Mom on call to take her to grocery shop and other fun geriatric games.
