Sunday Blahs

Living in a 24 hour town, I am lucky to have a Monday through Friday, 8-4:30 job.
That being said.....  It's Sunday night and this is how I feel.

I love my weekends.. Hanging with my girl, sleeping in, reading, baking. Sometimes even playing tourist. Anything and everything that doesn't include commuting, data entry or waking up early!

please !
Every weekday morning.
Even pathetically cute kittens can't help.
I won't lie... coffee does help.

What?
But on the bright side.. I look forward to snuggling up with my woman.. and watching quality TV tonight!

What did you expect 'Downtown Abbey?"

Let It Snow...

Today's theme on Facebook seems to be snow fun.
Because snow.

Family and friends  out there enjoying the slopes and sledding hills.

Weeeeeeee

I would be jealous, except it has been unseasonably cold in Vegas  and I remember every time I step outside I hate the cold!

Sure flying down frozen landscapes looks fun, for a moment.. then I flashback to the winter months of most of my life.

How happy am I that I don't own a snow shovel?
No more commuting with this guy on the road...

Here is one of my favorite shots off of Facebook today. (Taken from J.C.'s page)
Get it? HO HO HO ! Santa would be proud!

I'm just glad that the days are getting longer, and by Wednesday Vegas will be back up to 65 degrees!

Memories from past winters... oh how I don't miss you cold, white snow.

Bee Gees The Review

So we decided last week to travel all the way to the Santa Fe (About a block away)
That we would Stayn' alive  Stay up past our bed time and watch a Bee Gees cover band.
It was free.. What can I say?
So we order our $4.00 sodas, grabbed a booth and got ready to be dazzled.
If you have a imagination they could pass for the band..
First 3 song were classic tunes.. songs that made the group famous...
They did alright,... but we were honestly more entertained by the few groupies that got up to dance.

I use the term 'dance' as in 60 plus year old women shuffling on the floor and two younger women classic disco moved around them....
Chells comment to me.. "We are not that old and sad are we?"

Oh god I hope not!

So just as we are having us some Travolta Fever, the band decided they are done with the Bee Gees and start covering every 70's disco tune made..
Hey now! this is some Jive Talkin..
 I want to DISCOOOOOO

Then they were tired of that whole genre and hit us up with so Maroon 5 'Moves like Jagger'

Levine is praying for you Bee Gees Gold.

All and all if was a entertaining night.

The band gets a C because, they don't understand the concept of a tribute band..

They are still playing Friday nights.. so if you're in Vegas you can get your Disco on!

Now that is some shiny jackets and chest hair... Sexy!!!!

The real Bee Gees were part of my generations childhood into early adulthood.. Catchy songs that will stay with me forever!

Hello 2015

Yesterday I was asked if I had updated my blog lately.
I won't say who asked, but here is a hint.
I obviously haven't added any new thoughts lately.

So let's see if I can be more diligent in my musings.

What I want for 2015.
Kumbaya
Just kidding, world peace is not happening in my life time, or your kids.

or your kids kids.

Actually life is pretty good.
I got a great woman!
She keeps me happy, sober and I know that I am loved every moment of every day.

A grouchy fat cat.
She is strange, but she is ours.. and I wouldn't trade her.

A job that I don't hate.
The worlds most okayest job!
A family that rocks.
I kinda like these people... even the ones not pictured.

So for 2015... I want everyone to stay healthy and happy!
Oh and for people to keep getting bad tattoos, because I find this a great source of online entertainment.

"Sir, your resume is outstanding, we would hire you. Except you have a freaking penis on your face!"

Dentophobia

Lots of people hate going to the dentist.

I fear going to the demonic office marked DDS.

Hey don't judge, it's real.
I fear it so much I will let the pain linger for months before making and breaking a appointment.
My brain says," Just go! The pain will stop and it's over with in short order."
My other brain says... "Fuck you, smart side of the brain"

So as a result, things get neglected. And there are consequences!

A couple teeth get pulled and I  freak out the Periodontist, as he works to save the rest of my teeth.
I may have cried, hyperventilated, and squirmed just a bit.

 Lesson learned....
If a week of mashed potatoes and soup don't convince both sides of my brain, this will.

Even with insurance, the out of pocket the cost of this torture could have bought the following.
A zippy death trap..  when you're smooshed on the road you don't care about your teeth.

A vacation on the beach!
l
This house in Detroit.
I'm not making this up.  Detroit real estate is depressing.

Fuel for the year.

Prettier than the crap in my mouth.

And a case or two of dental floss!
